A review of the weekly Yangsando Hitsumabushi

The dish was hitsumabushi, a whole eel topped with a variety of side dishes, giving it the feel of a Japanese meal. The eel was grilled crispy, savory, and light, with no gamey odor. Personally, I found it to be quite filling, making it a pleasant and enjoyable experience. There are three ways to enjoy hitsumabushi: first, I savored the eel and rice alone, savoring the basic flavor. Then, I topped it with dried seaweed flakes, green onions, and wasabi, adding a unique flavor. Finally, I poured on some ocha (rice wine) broth and finished it off as ochazuke (rice wine ochazuke). The warm broth complemented the rice, creating a rich, deep flavor.

The portion size was a bit smaller than I expected, but the variety of side dishes combined with the meal left me very satisfied. If you're a fan of eel rice bowls or looking for a special meal, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
