Introducing Longmen Bridge

The Luoyang Longmen Bridge, located at the Longmen Mountain Pass, 12 kilometers south of Luoyang City, Henan Province, serves as a vital passage connecting the eastern and western Longmen Mountains, facilitating transportation from Luoyang to various parts of southwestern Henan. It is 303.8 meters long, with 1,309 meters of approach roads on both sides. The bridge deck has a clear width of 10 meters for carriageways and 1.5 meters for pedestrians on both sides. The Longmen Bridge spans the Yi River and is located at the entrance to the Longmen Grottoes. Construction began on March 25, 1960, and on October 8, 1960, Vice Premier Marshal Chen Yi inscribed the characters "Longmen" for the bridge. Construction was completed on November 20, 1962.
