A famous seaside temple with a stunning view and sacred relics!🙏
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용궁사) is an ancient and renowned Buddhist temple in Busan.
Built on a rocky outcrop by the beach, it boasts stunning architecture.
Its highlight is its seaside views and cool breezes. Especially during sunrise or sunset, you'll witness the sparkling light of the sea. It's truly a magical moment, worthy of a memorable visit. (This time of year is highly recommended.)
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple also boasts numerous structures, starting with the 108 stone steps leading to the temple, a three-story pagoda, Buddhist sculptures, and numerous sacred objects for worship, including:
✅ The principal Buddha image in the chapel
✅ The golden Sangkachai Buddha
✅ The black Buddha image by the sea
✅ The Bodhisattva Guanyin
✅ The Baby Buddha
✅ The twelve zodiac animals statues It's recommended to rub the statue's elbows and make a wish.
✅ Sacred Well
✅ Dolharubang, or the sacred Grandfather Rock of Jeju Island, is where travelers come to make various wishes. It's believed that:
Rubbing your belly will bring wealth; rubbing your hat or head will bring love and affection; wanting a daughter, rub your ears; wanting a son, rub your nose; etc.
For those who are #spiritual, we recommend visiting this place. Even I brought amulets with me! 😁 I highly recommend the #fishring, which is believed to bring good fortune, career, and wealth. Or, you can try the various styles of zodiac bracelets.
After praying, taking photos, and enjoying the beautiful scenery, you can stroll around and explore the shops in front of the temple. There are amulets, souvenirs, and plenty of food stalls. Don't miss the freshly squeezed orange juice and the whole-grain hotteok. A uniquely delicious experience (really delicious, no arguments!)
