A thousand-year-old temple on the cliff, a wishing sanctuary with an unparalleled sea view

Haedong Ryuguji Temple was founded in 1376 by Grand Master Laanong, the king's master of King Gongmin of Goryeo. Formerly known as Pumen Temple, it is one of the three holy places of Guanyin in Korea, blending Buddhist culture and natural landscape. The combination of the sea, dragon and Guanyin Buddha gives this place a deeper meaning of faith than other places. Legend has it that as long as you pray sincerely at Haidong Ryugu Temple, the bodhisattva will manifest his spirit in a dream and fulfill a wish.
