📍Attraction address: Çanakkale Castle is located in Çanakkale, the capital of Çanakkale Province, Turkey. The specific address is Fevzipaşa Mahallesi Yalı Caddesi, Fevzipaşa, Çimenlik Sk. no 46, Çanakkale
🚗 Transportation to attractions:
1. From Istanbul, there are long-distance buses. There are buses from Esenli Bus Station directly to Çanakkale Bus Station. Look out for the sign of Kamil Koç Company. There is a bus every two hours and the journey takes about 4 hours.
2. Drive from Istanbul along D550, passing through Tekirdag and across the very beautiful cross-sea bridge. It takes about 4-5 hours to reach the scenic spot.
3. Canakkale has an airport, but few people choose to arrive this way. If you are on an island or city in the nearby sea, you can also choose to take a ferry to Canakkale.
👍️Must-see attractions:
Çanakkale Castle, also known as Chimerik Castle, is a castle of great historical significance. It was a solid fortification in the era of cold weapons and is now part of the Çanakkale Naval Museum. It once controlled the Dardanelles and played an important role in the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I.
[1] Ancient castle walls: The castle was built by Sultan Mehmed II in the mid-15th century. After hundreds of years of wind and rain, the bricks and stones of the walls have turned red and yellow, and are very elegant in the sun.
[2] Cannon Display Area: Cannons, torpedoes and other attack weapons used during the First World War are neatly arranged along the stone walls and under the city walls, bringing back memories of the vicissitudes of war.
[3] Sunset viewing point: On a clear evening, you can climb up the city wall to enjoy the gorgeous sunset and the beautiful scenery of the Sea of Marmara.
[4] Submarine Tour: This is one of the few military museums where you can visit a submarine, so don’t miss it.
🎟️Ticket information: Tickets 400 lira/person
💗Other tips: There are security personnel during the ship tour, and the language communication is not particularly smooth. You can ask for a guide to introduce the tour. The service is fine, but they don’t seem to agree to taking pictures in some areas, so I didn’t take many pictures. Friends who go there can pay attention.
