Travel Guide | Cotswolds South Route: Castle Combe & Lacock Abbey! 🏡🌳

I went to the Cotswolds again! This time, my route focused on the southern part, which is closer to Bath. I've put together a pretty great itinerary

Chippenham is perfect as a starting point for the southern route. While it doesn't boast a ton of stunning old architecture itself, it's an excellent base for accommodation and restocking supplies. You'll find plenty of chain coffee shops and a shopping park to take a break, plus many interesting local shops to browse. It also serves as the bus transfer hub for the other two destinations.

Lacock Abbey: A Harry Potter Filming Spot! 🧙♀️🌿

The area around Lacock Abbey is incredibly rustic and charming. Many residents even have self-service stands outside their homes – it's got such a unique vibe! I bought some super aesthetic handmade blueberry jam from one of these roadside self-service shops. The Abbey itself is a Harry Potter filming location, and it charges an entrance fee. It also closes around 5 PM, so I recommend heading there early.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the Abbey and its uniquely characteristic local homes truly embody that special Cotswolds charm. It's idyllic! 😍
