Day 1: Arrival in Mactan & Resort check-in
Arrived at Cebu Mactan Airport after taking an early morning flight. I was a little tired, but as soon as I left the airport, I could feel the heat and the scent of coconuts, and I was already in the mood for a trip!
I used the airport pick-up service to arrive at The Leaf Mactan Resort. It was clean and quiet, with a view of the ocean right in front of me! As soon as I unpacked, I sat on the balcony and had a cup of coffee while feeling the ocean breeze. This is true healing.
Day 2: Jollibee & Cove Restaurant, and the ocean
For breakfast, I simply had a Filipino national breakfast set at Jollibee. It was a sweet and salty taste that was addictive! It really gave me a local feel.
For lunch, I headed to Cove Seafood Restaurant, a famous restaurant in Mactan. Fresh seafood right in front of the beach… Especially the grilled shrimp and garlic butter crab are so delicious that I can’t stop drooling when I think about them.
In the evening, I had a cocktail while watching the sunset at the resort pool. I still can’t forget the view of the sky turning pink.
Day 3: Hopping Tour – A Day on the Sea
This day was the hopping tour I had been looking forward to!
I went snorkeling at Nakpalingan Island, which I visited for the first time, and the corals and fish that spread out before my eyes… It was so beautiful that I wondered if it was real.
I had a simple BBQ set for lunch on the boat, but it tasted three times better when I ate it on the sea.
I played in the water a lot, and after taking a nap on the sea, it couldn’t have been better.
Day 4: Exploring the night market & inhaling local snacks
It suddenly started to rain like a squall in the afternoon, but Cebu’s nights are a different kind of fun in themselves!
Walking around the night market with an umbrella on a rainy day was romantic in its own way.
Everything from the mango seasoning snacks sold on the street, to the chicken inasal, and the crispy fried food was delicious.
When I returned to my accommodation, I had a small party atmosphere with snacks and local beer that I bought at a convenience store.
Day 5: Last day, Regretful check-out
On the last morning, before check-out, I took another walk along the beach near the resort.
The calm sound of the ocean, warm sunlight, and sparkling sea. I took this view in my heart and regretfully walked to the airport…
⸻
Cebu was a much more relaxed and warm place than I thought, where I could feel ‘real rest’.
Eat, play, rest…
Ranked #1 on the list of places I want to visit again! 💙
