Chamonix, the venue for the first Winter Olympics in 1924, is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-L'Alpes region in southeastern France.
Chamonix is ​​located in the north of Mont Blanc, between Aiguille Rouge and the famous Aiguille du Midi. It is one of the oldest ski resorts in France.
