1. Viewing Time
Every year from February to March (late February is best) is a good time to enjoy the kapok flowers in Changjiang County, Hainan. The kapok flowers are in full bloom during this period, creating a spectacular view.
2. Viewing Locations
1. Pai'an Village: Widely regarded as the best spot for viewing kapok flowers, it boasts a large square and giant kapok trees protected by the village. There's also a boardwalk specifically built for kapok viewing, with rice paddies below and bougainvillea on both sides, adding to the scenery. There's also a railway line here, and the kapok flowers on both sides of the track are especially beautiful. If a train comes by, don't miss the opportunity to take some stunning photos.
Pai'an Village is a village under the jurisdiction of Chahe Town, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province. It has been named a "Characteristic Village of Ethnic Minorities" by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and has been included in the list of National Forest Villages.
2. Changhua River Kapok Viewing Platform: Another must-see spot for flower viewing. You can overlook the sea of kapok flowers along the river or take a boat tour.
3. Precautions
Due to ongoing construction on parts of the West Expressway, you may encounter congestion. It is recommended to plan your route in advance and choose a suitable time to depart.
4. Transportation Guide
Self-driving: Navigate to the Pai'an Village Kapok Viewing Platform. Get off the expressway at the Dongfang Interchange and head towards the National Highway in the direction of Qicha Town to reach Pai'an Village.
5. Other Activities
Visit the intangible cultural heritage market, enjoy Li ethnic song and dance performances and single bamboo drifting performances, and experience the rich Li culture.
Wear Hanfu and take a flower boat to enjoy the mountains, the water, and the beautiful scenery, leaving unforgettable memories.
