Ruqin Lake is located in a street park in Guling Street Town, Lushan City. It is also one of the famous attractions in Lushan Scenic Area. The lake got its name because the lakeshore is curved and the surface of the lake resembles a charming violin. In addition, there are two words " Ruqin " carved by ancient people on the stone by the lake , hence the name.
Ruqin Lake is vast and majestic yet beautiful and elegant. There is a curved bridge leading to the island in the middle of the lake. There are many artificially raised peacocks on the island, so it is named Peacock Island. The curved bridge connects the island and is decorated with water pavilions, forming a green water and green mountains that complement each other. Standing on the island, you can overlook the beautiful surroundings.
Half of the lake lies within Huajing Garden, also known as Huajing Lake. Huajing is said to be the spot where the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi composed his poem " Peach Blossoms at Dalin Temple. " The garden houses the "Bai Juyi Thatched Cottage Exhibition Room ." A stone statue of Bai Juyi stands by the lake. In the Huajing Pavilion, a horizontal stone inscription depicts the words " Huajing ," which are said to be written in Bai Juyi's own hand.
