Hiking in Heimifeng Forest Park, Changsha

This hike took place on the ancient Heimifeng trail. We navigated to Beishan Forest Park, then to the Shanju Banmu Homestay. The entrance to the ancient trail is to the right of the homestay, marked by a stone with 'Heimifeng Ancient Trail' (Image 1). It takes about 40 minutes to reach the ancient temple at the mountain top from here, and the entire path consists of concrete steps, which are not too steep. There are many bamboo groves along the way, and few tourists.
Free parking is available at the Shanju Homestay, but the road up the mountain is somewhat narrow, making it challenging when two vehicles meet, which really tests your driving experience.
The Heimifeng ancient temple is currently under renovation, with many new structures on the outside. The only ancient building within the temple is the old temple itself (Image 8).
