Summer family trip to Asahi

It's a bit of a hidden gem, but if you haven't planned your summer vacation yet, why not consider Chaoyang as a family day trip, about two hours by high-speed rail from Beijing?
It's also a great choice for families, especially for dinosaur-loving boys, as it houses the Dinosaur Museum.
For adults, the city boasts the twin towers from the Liao Dynasty.
For souvenirs, ancient fossils are sold reasonably in the shops lining both sides of the road connecting the South and North Towers (authenticity is at your own risk).
While summer is usually crowded everywhere, Chaoyang is relatively quiet.
