I've discovered a hidden gem in Chengde! The Chengde Museum truly exceeded my expectations, a must-visit for Qing Palace artifact enthusiasts📸
🚗 Transportation Tips
Take the You 1 bus from Chengde South Station directly to the museum, it takes about an hour and is super convenient. It's best to start early; the museum opens at 9 AM, so you can get in with fewer people and take better photos~
🏛️ Exhibition Highlights
The museum has two floors:
The 1st floor is the regular exhibition area, mainly displaying artifacts related to the Mountain Resort, offering an in-depth look at Qing Dynasty royal culture.
The basement level has a temporary special exhibition area with frequently changing themes. This time, I caught a Qing Dynasty costume special exhibition featuring many exquisite dragon robes and phoenix crowns!
⚠️ Useful Tips
1. Remember to bring your ID to exchange for tickets (free admission!)
2. Closed on Mondays, don’t make a wasted trip
3. Allocate 2-3 hours for your visit
4. The air conditioning inside is strong, bring a jacket in summer
5. Last entry is at 4 PM, best to arrive by 3:30 PM at the latest
📸 Photo Tips
The Chinese-style architecture outside is perfect for ancient-style photos; wearing Hanfu is recommended! Flash photography is not allowed inside for exhibits, but the lighting is well designed, making every shot atmospheric.
Nearby, you can also visit the Mountain Resort and Puning Temple, making for a fulfilling day trip! If you have time, check out the cultural and creative shop next door for some unique souvenirs.
