If you go to Chengdu, you can't miss Jinli Ancient Street!
This is an old-fashioned street adjacent to the Wuhou Temple, which is associated with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and is a tourist spot where history and modernity beautifully blend together.
Just walking through this exciting streetscape, with its cobblestone alleys lined with red lanterns, wooden buildings, and rows of traditional decorations and food stalls, makes it feel like you're walking through the set of a period drama.
The area is lit up in the evening and at night, making it a great place to take photos. You'll be amazed at how beautiful it is, even with your smartphone!
📸 Lots of photogenic spots!
・A street of red lanterns and wooden architecture (night is recommended)
・Traditional arts street performances
・Colorful traditional sweets and food stalls
・Peking opera mask stalls and candy craftsmen's demonstrations
👘 Streets decorated with traditional costumes
Recently in China, there has been a boom among young people walking around tourist spots in traditional costumes (Hanfu). Here in Jinli Ancient Street, I saw many women and couples dressed in colorful costumes.
There are several costume rental shops in the city, so even tourists can easily wear them and walk around. It's a great photo spot for those who like to take photos!
🍡 Eating and cultural experiences are also fun!
Jinli has a wide variety of local gourmet foods unique to Sichuan.
From spicy skewers and sesame dumplings to traditional tea shops, you can enjoy them all at reasonable prices.
You may also come across small performances such as picture theater, shadow puppet theater, and traditional music performances!
📍Access: About 10 minutes walk from Gaoshengqiao Station on Chengdu Subway Line 3
🕰️Recommended time: Afternoon to night. It's best to arrive in the evening and take photos of the illuminated cityscape as the sun sets!
Jinli Ancient Street is a spot where you can enjoy historical romance, gourmet food, photogenic photos, and cultural experiences all at once.
We confidently recommend it to those who want to take photos that will be great for social media and as a travel memory!
