Because of a song "Chengdu", I came to Yulin Road. The name of this road has long been sealed by the melody. It is no longer just an address, but a synonym for a mood.

At the intersection of Yulin West Road, it says "I'm waiting for you on Yulin West Road", as if it is written to everyone who comes here to find a little feeling. The street is not long, but the whole road is almost occupied by folk pubs. The soft singing of guitars can be heard in every store. There is no noise, only some slowness and a little confusion. It doesn't feel like traveling here, but more like returning to a past that has not been finished in my heart.

In addition to the pubs that make people want to sit down and have a drink, the snack stalls on Yulin Road also made me fall in love with them in a second. The two most recommended ones are:

How can you miss this when you come to Yulin? Made to order, the skin is crispy and fragrant, and the fillings can be sweet, salty, or simply mixed. I ordered milk puff with durian, which was not at all inconsistent. A hot bite was a small happiness that would make people laugh.

🫘 Pan-fried hairy tofu
I thought it was just ordinary stinky tofu, but the skin was crispy after pan-frying, and the inside was still tender and smooth. With the addition of chili and coriander, it was so fragrant that passers-by couldn't help but stop. It was just spicy enough, and I wanted to have a second serving after eating one.

The whole street is both literary and market-oriented. As you walk, you will find that this place is not just folk songs and wine, but a very Chengdu-style gentleness: no noise, no rush, no forcing anything on you, but let you just sit down, quietly, and stay for a while.

If you happen to be in a bad mood, come to Yulin Road for a walk. There are guitar sounds, roadside wine aromas, and a hot egg cake waiting for you.
