🏛️ History
Originally built in 1951, Tianfu Square was once the site of the Imperial Palace of Chengdu during the Qing Dynasty. It was transformed into a public square after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The iconic 30-meter statue of Chairman Mao Zedong, waving southward, was erected to honor the revolutionary spirit 
.
The square features a Taijitu (Yin-Yang) design dividing the East and West sections, with the Golden Sun Bird motif at its center—an emblem of Chengdu’s ancient Jinsha civilization
