A holiday at Yuushien, a famous peony garden in Shimane Prefecture

Yuushien, located in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, serves as the setting for the TV drama series 'Bakebake.'

This stunning Japanese strolling garden spans approximately 12,000 tsubo (about 40,000 square meters) and welcomes visitors with its seasonal scenic beauty.

From late April to early May, you can witness the 'Pond Peony' display, where the pond's surface is covered with peony flowers. It is said that around 30,000 blooms are used, creating a breathtaking seasonal spectacle.

From early June to August, the garden showcases irises, hydrangeas, and vibrant green maple leaves. During the hot season, dry mist is sprayed throughout the garden, creating a magical and refreshing atmosphere.

In autumn, the trees within the garden turn red and yellow, and from mid-November to early December, the garden hosts a special autumn foliage illumination event, offering a different kind of beauty from the daytime.

In winter, from mid to late December, you can enjoy Shimane Prefecture's largest illumination display in collaboration with winter peonies. You may also see the beautiful kan-botan (winter peonies) blooming quietly amidst the snowy landscape.

Yuushien is a wonderful place to visit in any season, offering unique experiences throughout the year.
