Chengdu served up serious history vibes with my day trip to Luodai Ancient Town — and trust me, wearing Hanfu in a Hakka-style building takes the experience next-level 😍🌸
Must-See Place: Luodai Ancient Town
Location: Luodai Town, Longquanyi District, Chengdu
Hours: Open all day, year-round
First tip: rent a traditional Hanfu (plenty of shops in town), and step into the role — walking those cobbled lanes feels magical when you’re dressed for the part! Luodai is packed with old-school Hakka architecture, tea houses, and snack stalls. Definitely pop into the main Hakka building right after you get suited up — it’s the perfect spot to take a million photos and soak in the vibe.
Wander down the old alleys, grab some spicy bean noodles or sesame candies from street vendors, and chill out under the red lanterns. If you love snaps for your feed, the colorful Hakka heritage walls and traditional storefronts are on point.
Getting There & Around: Metro Line 2 to Longquanyi, then a short bus or taxi — striking distance from central Chengdu. The ancient town itself is walkable, so no worries about getting lost.
Pro Tips:
– Arrive early to beat the crowds and get first pick of Hanfu styles
– Cash is handy for street snacks, but most shops take mobile payment
– It’s open-air, so pack sunscreen and maybe a raincoat if the weather acts up
Eat Like A Local: Try Luodai’s famous zhouzi (savory pancake) and steam buns — best from tucked-away little stores.
