Visiting temples in Chiang Mai, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan is located in Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It is one of the most important temples in Chiang Mai Province. The pagoda area is a viewpoint for the city of Chiang Mai. The way up is a seven-headed naga staircase. There are two ways to get to the temple:

Walk up the seven-headed naga staircase, which has 306 steps in total. It takes about half an hour to walk up. This naga staircase is also a popular photo spot for tourists.

Another way is to take the electric tram. The price for going up and down is 20 baht per person (for Thais) and 50 baht per person (for foreigners). It is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
