Wat Pha Lat: A Historic Temple at the Foot of Doi Suthep

If you're visiting Chiang Mai, I highly recommend stopping by this temple. Wat Pha Lat is an ancient temple with stunning architecture that stands out for its simplicity, as it avoids the use of bright, flashy colors typical of other temples. The entrance to the temple is located along the same route as the path up to Doi Suthep. Once you walk down to the temple grounds, you'll be amazed by the beautiful spaces at every corner. The area is shaded by large trees, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere. The highlight of the temple is the waterfall at the back, which flows down from the mountain's source. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Chiang Mai city. For those who love hiking and trails, you can also trek up to Wat Pha Lat from behind Chiang Mai University. I’m definitely planning to try this route next time!
