Wat Chai Sri Phum, Chiang Mai

#Get a discount without relying on luck Wat Chai Si Phum was built around 1442-2000 B.E. during the reign of King Mangrai who started building Chiang Mai. A soldier named Phan Tam Koen presided over the construction, thus it was called Wat Phan Tam Koen or Wat Panta Koen. The reason it is called Wat Chai Si Phum or Wat Si Phum is because it is located near Chaeng Si Phum. The reason for building the temple was to be the pride of Chiang Mai according to the Caturongkhat direction of the city. More than two hundred years later, in C.S. 840 or B.E. 2022, during the reign of King Tilokarat, Wat Chai Si Phum was also known as Wat Asokaram. It is the place where the sandalwood Buddha image that first arrived in Chiang Mai was enshrined and stayed for 15 years. When Chiang Mai was under Burmese rule, the temple may have deteriorated. It was renovated in 1837 B.E. during the reign of Phraya Phutthawong. This is another beautiful temple in Chiang Mai. You can go and pray for a blessing. #Get a discount without relying on luck #Wat Chai Si Phum #Chiang Mai temple
