[Hmong Village, Chiang Mai, Thailand] A treasure trove of tradition and handicrafts alive in the mountains

About an hour's drive up the mountain from the old town of Chiang Mai. A place where the memories of the former kingdom and the culture of the ethnic minorities living today quietly blend together in the high altitude air -

That is Hmong Village at Doi Pui.

Beautiful ethnic costumes, hand-woven fabrics, delicious herbal tea...

This is a hidden gem that adds a "simple and dense time" to sightseeing in northern Thailand.

👀Highlights✨

The life of the Hmong people spreads out on the mountain⛰️🏠

This village, located further inland from Doi Suthep, is at a high altitude and has a cool and tranquil air.

As you walk up the stone-paved slope, you will meet villagers wearing colorful Hmong traditional costumes.

The roofs of the houses are low and made of old-fashioned wood and bamboo. Just one step inside and you will feel as if you have wandered into another world of Thailand.

Market for handicrafts and traditional costumes 🧵🎨
There is a small market in the center of the village, where embroidery, textiles, and silverwork made by Hmong women are lined up.
You may find a unique item that is perfect as a souvenir from your trip, such as a colorful pouch, clothing, or cloth brooch.
You can rent a costume (for a small fee) and take a photo in a traditional costume! The mountain range and bamboo houses spread out in the background, creating a picture-book-like scene ✨

Mountain herbal tea and a quiet break 🍵🌿
There is a small herbal tea stand and a local cafe at the back of the village, where you can enjoy a relaxing time while enjoying the tranquility of the mountains while sipping hot herbal tea.
We recommend "Lemongrass tea" and "Hmong blend tea". You can also purchase dried herbal tea as a souvenir.
