มูลนิธิเชียงใหม่สามัคคีการกุศลChiang Mai Yi De Shan Tang (Ede Shan Tang) is a Thai charity dedicated to the culture of giving alms. Many people who visit Thailand not only worship the Four-Faced Buddha and make wishes, but also visit Yi De Shan Tang to donate coffins. The Yi De Shan Tang's sign reads, "Provide wealth and safety." Its mission is to help the poor. Besides providing general poverty relief, its most notable service is assisting with the afterlife, particularly for those whose bodies remain unidentified or who lack the means for burial. The Yi De Shan Tang in Chiang Mai is located in an alley near Chiang Mai's Night Market district. It is usually quite quiet. It is a Chinese-style temple, decorated with dragons and phoenixes, and decorated with vibrant colors. Visitors can burn incense and pray before making a donation.
The cost of donating a coffin is 500 baht. The staff will give two slips with your name on them. One slip is burned in the temple, and the other is placed on the coffin. Incense is offered to the various deities, offering prayers.
