Worshiping Buddha in the Lai Kham Temple at Wat Saen Fang

#VisitChiangMai
๐Ÿ˜Wat Saen Fang, or Wat Saen Fang, was built around 2119 CE during the reign of Phaya Saen Phu, the third king of the Mangrai Dynasty.
๐Ÿ™๐ŸฝThe word "Saen" comes from Phaya Saen Phu's name, while "Fang" comes from his desire to entrust his wealth to Buddhism.
Highlights of the temple include:
๐Ÿ  Wihan Lai Kham, the former residence of King Kawilorot Suriyawong. He donated the building to the temple in 2420 CE, transforming it into a fully gilded and lacquered viharn. This Lanna-style structure features a low, sloping roof decorated with carved wood and gilded stucco. The gable is decorated with carved woodwork in the form of spiral stems and mythical creatures.
๐ŸšUbosot (ordination hall) was built by Princess Dara Rasami. It is a two-story contemporary building with a brick and mortar lower level and a terracotta tile roof. The eaves are decorated with gingerbread fretwork. The upper level is an intricately patterned wooden structure with star motifs on the sides. The roof ridge is decorated with Kinnari figures.
๐Ÿ• A 100-year-old monk's hut in Yonkan Phichit, with Western-style stucco arches on the windows.
๐Ÿ›• A waterside library.
๐Ÿ›– A guardhouse used for security in ancient times.
๐Ÿ›• The Mongkol Saen Mahachai Pagoda, similar to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma.
๐Ÿก Wat Saen Fang: 188 Tha Phae Road, Chang Moi Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.
