White Temple, Chiang Rai

The White Temple, formerly known as "Wat Rong Wah", is also known as "Wat Ling Guang" by locals. Construction of the White Temple began in 1998, and many parts of the temple are still under construction. It was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a leading Thai artist born in Chiang Rai. It is more like a large art complex than a temple. This magnificent temple was designed by the artist as a gift to his beloved King and Queen of Thailand.

The White Temple is built with pure white materials. The sunlight shines through the intricate carvings, shining brightly, which also symbolizes the purity and wisdom of the Buddha. The intricate and meticulous architectural details made me stop for a long time in every corner. It is difficult to reproduce the shock of the original scene with photos!
