Tsukuohachiman Shrine is a shrine located in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.

An ancient shrine where it is said that Empress Jingu and Minamoto no Yoshitsune stopped by.

It is said that Empress Jingu stopped by here on her triumphant return from her campaign against the Three Kingdoms of Korea, and in 850 (Kasho 3), a shrine was built at the current location and Hondawake no Mikoto (Emperor Ojin) was enshrined.

In addition, the consort deities enshrined are her mother, Empress Jingu, and Takeuchi no Sukune, who fought alongside her in the Korean campaign.

On his way to Yashima, Minamoto no Yoshitsune was caught in a storm and took refuge in Tsukuoh with his retainer Musashibo Benkei and others. When he donated a horse saddle to this shrine and prayed for lasting military fortune, Yoshitsune is said to have sat down to rest on the "Yoshitsune Sitting Stone," which is enshrined in front of the main hall.

Also, Yoshitsune and his party stayed at the home of Kanno Shoji Saemon, and the Sendoko took care of their meals, so the letter of thanks from that time is preserved as an ancient document of the Kasumihachiman Shrine.
