🙏Wat Mung Muang is an ancient temple. It is believed that it was built before the establishment of Chiang Rai. It was renovated in 1839 and received the royal charter of the boundary of the temple in 1866. The boundary of the boundary of the temple was held in 1967.
🙏The meaning of the name of Wat Mung Muang is like a roof covering Chiang Rai (the word "Mung Muang" means covering the city).
💥There is a miraculous story that during World War II, planes came to bomb Chiang Rai. The area around the temple, which is a fresh market, was spared from the bombs. Therefore, it is believed that this may be because of the two-colored Buddha image enshrined in the temple.
🙏The two-colored Buddha image is a bronze Buddha image of two kings in Lanna art that is over 600 years old. It is a sacred Buddha image that Chiang Rai people respect very much.
🏰The Ubosot in applied Lanna art is a tall building that is popular in the central region. But it is still decorated in the Lanna style with carved wood and gold leaf. Inside the Ubosot, the ceiling pattern is designed in a pattern. "Ancient Yantra of Lanna"
🛕 Lanna art pagoda, located on a square base with four layers of recessed corners, supporting a recessed lotus base. Next up is the chedi chamber with niches enshrining a standing Buddha statue in the world-opening pose on all four sides. The pagoda is bell-shaped and decorated with small pagodas at the corners, similar to the pagoda at Wat Pa Sak, Chiang Saen.
🙏 Large Phra Sangkachai, 6 meters high, people often worship it to ask for good luck and for business to progress.
