Worship the Bodhisattva Guan Yin @ Huai Plakang Temple

This New Year, when visiting Chiang Rai, don't miss Wat Huai Plakang.

.. Located in Rim Kok Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province.

.. Important religious sites include the Phop Chok Tham Chedi, built in the name of the teacher. It is a triangular chedi with 9 levels connected and surrounded by 12 smaller chedis. It was built according to the vision of the teacher Phop Chok who dreamed that on this hill

.. Inside the chedi is the Bodhisattva Guanyin Bodhisattva in the blessing posture, made of fragrant sandalwood from 3 countries: China, Myanmar and India.

.. There is also a white chapel and a large white Guanyin Bodhisattva statue that is 69 meters high, or almost as high as a 25-story building. Inside the statue, there is an elevator that allows you to go up and see the view of Chiang Rai.
