🏕 Wat Huay Pla Kang was established in 2001 by the villagers of Huay Pla Kang as a monastery. In 2005, Phra Ajarn Phob Chok Tissawongso came to practice Dharma and began building monk's quarters, sermon halls, dining halls, and pagodas. Later, in 2009, the National Office of Buddhism officially declared it as Wat Huay Pla Kang.
The important and interesting features within the temple include:
🛕 Phra Maha Phob Chok Dharma Chedi, a 9-story pagoda housing a large Bodhisattva Guan Yin statue carved from fragrant wood imported from China, India, and Myanmar. Each floor also houses a Buddha statue. Around the pagoda, there are replicas of the year of birth relics for worship.
🙏🏽 A large Bodhisattva Guan Yin statue, 69 meters tall with 23 floors, accessible by elevator. From the 22nd-23rd floors, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Chiang Rai.
🏣 The white stucco ordination hall with a Naga staircase, adorned with intricate stucco designs. Inside, there is a principal white Buddha statue.
