#sendaiうみの都 aquarium opened in 2015
The theme of the exhibition is "Sanriku Coast", which showcases the rich marine ecology.
Not only does it reproduce the natural landscape of the Northeast Sea,
It also incorporates the concepts of education and conservation.
I just happened to come across a joint project with Corner Creatures when I visited here before.
The spectacular large sink has no cover, and when the sun shines in,
It's like walking into an underwater forest🌊
There are also many large and small exhibition areas.
You can observe different kinds of fish and aquatic life up close. There is a special "Sea Forest Kindergarten" in the museum.
This area is a cute display space designed for children.
Let them learn about marine life in a simple way.
There are also areas such as freshwater ecology and deep-sea laboratories. We also saw cute otters, penguins and floating jellyfish.
Although the performances were suspended that day, it was a bit of a pity.
In the end it took about an hour and a half to visit the entire aquarium.
I recommend you try the pearl collecting experience 🐚Try to take pearls out of shells and make them into ornaments.
🏷️Admission fee: JPY 2400 per adult.
