Chiayi Museum, located in the Cultural Center Park of Chiayi City's East District, was established in 2004. The museum features three exhibition floors: the first floor houses the "Explore Chiayi" Children's Hall and a themed exhibition area; the second floor showcases the "Zhuluo Outlook" permanent exhibition highlighting Chiayi's unique characteristics; and the third floor is home to the "Architecture in Performance: Listen to the Stories of Temple Figurines" Koji Pottery Hall. The exhibits cover three main themes: geology, fossils, and fine arts of the Chiayi region. The museum was originally founded with the mission of "Chiayi people caring about Chiayi matters," which later expanded to "Chiayi people caring about Chiayi matters, and outsiders exploring Chiayi City" to promote and publicize the local culture and arts of Chiayi. Chiayi is known as the birthplace of Koji pottery in Taiwan, and the museum's Koji pottery exhibits reflect the city's dedication to preserving and promoting traditional culture and education. This small yet charming local museum offers a glimpse into Chiayi's cultural and artistic heritage, making it a must-visit for those who wish to learn more about the area.
