Chiayi Performing Arts Center

Although this isn't Alishan, but rather in the southern part of Chiayi City, the plaza and surrounding greenery in front of the Chiayi Performing Arts Center are adorned with cherry blossoms when spring arrives. While the cherry blossoms here aren't as spectacular as those in the mountains, the spacious environment and modern architectural design create a unique aesthetic for the blossoms in this contemporary setting.

I discovered the blooming cherry blossoms at the entrance after watching a play in the theater. The scene of the pink flowers lining up against the modern architectural lines under the sunset was so striking that I couldn't resist taking several photos. This venue also frequently hosts small spring flower season concerts, combining flower viewing with music for a cultural experience. If you're not planning to head to the mountains, you can still find such charming floral spots in the city—a little joy in the daily lives of the locals.
