[Chiba Prefecture/Chiba Shrine] A shrine that protects the North Star and wards off evil spirits

The temple was founded in 1000 by the Chiba clan, who regard Hokushin Myoken Sonsei-o as their guardian deity.
Hokushin Myoken Sonsei-o protects the stars (people's destinies) and directions, and became the head temple of Myoken faith.
Myoken faith worships Myoken Bosatsu, the deification of the North Star and the Big Dipper, as the North Star protects the stars and all directions.

Sonjoden, which enters the sacred area, is a rare complex of a tower gate and a shrine building. The interior is divided into four parts: Fukutokuden, Nittenro, Getsutenro, and Kaiunden.
Hoshimiya, which represents the roles of directions, the five elements, the zodiac, and various parts of the human body, is a particularly popular spot, with many people praying while facing their corresponding zodiac sign.

It has a slightly different atmosphere from ordinary shrines. The Sonseiden and the main shrine are painted vermilion and are gorgeous, and stand out against the blue sky.

The shrine has many other things to see, such as the Myoken Enju Well, where water is drawn.
