Great Mosque of Xi’an 🕌

#summervacay On a sunlit summer morning, we stepped through the wooden archways of the Great Mosque of Xi’an, leaving behind the lively streets of the Muslim Quarter. Inside, the air turned cool and hushed, heavy with the scent of old timber and moss. Courtyards unfolded quietly, shaded by ancient cypress trees, where delicate stone carvings traced flowing Arabic script alongside graceful Chinese eaves. Birds flitted through beams of sunlight, their songs the only sound above the soft crunch of gravel underfoot. 🕌🌿☀️
As we wandered deeper, we found locals seated beneath latticework windows, reading or simply resting in the warm stillness. A breeze stirred the leaves, carrying faint echoes of the market beyond, a gentle reminder of the world outside these serene walls. In that summer calm, the Great Mosque felt timeless, a graceful meeting of cultures held tenderly in Xi’an’s heart. 🌳📿🕊️
