The Tianhe Grand Canyon (Daohuigou) Scenic Area is located in Jiaohe Township, 35 kilometers southwest of Luanchuan County, Luoyang. Situated at the confluence of the Yangtze, Yellow, and Huaihe Rivers, it covers a total area of 56 square kilometers. Located in the transition zone between the subtropical and northern temperate zones, the area's altitude ranges from 1,300 to 1,800 meters, with an average annual temperature of 10.2 degrees Celsius. The valley boasts magnificent mountains, lush vegetation, tranquil streams, and interconnected pools and waterfalls. Exotic flowers and plants abound, and thousands of ancient willows grow along the streams. Strange rocks, majestic mountains, beautiful waters, and tranquil forests create a breathtaking landscape.
Currently, the park has successfully developed 86 scenic spots across six major areas, creating two distinct routes: exploring the tranquil waters and exploring the mountains. Optimus Prime (1,950 meters above sea level), Dapeng Spreading Wings (2,113 meters above sea level), and Five Finger Peak, known for their height, steepness, and beauty, have become the park's three iconic landmarks and representative wonders of the Funiu Mountain area. Some of the park's facilities meet 4A standards, and mobile communication networks are fully covered.
On November 7, 2002, it was officially designated a "Provincial Forest Park" by the Provincial Forestry Department. It was also listed as one of Luanchuan County's five key scenic areas for development. Currently, the scenic area boasts 85 family hotels with over 1,300 beds, along with resorts and villa complexes that can accommodate over 1,500 people for accommodation, entertainment, and conferences, making it an ideal destination for leisure, vacation, and summer sightseeing.
