Zhijiang (芷江) — the forgotten gem of Huaihua.

#hellohalloween
🌿 Who would have thought — hidden in Hunan lies a place both peaceful and breathtaking! I imagine this could be the second Fenghuang Ancient Town.
A land untouched by waves of mass tourism — no noise, no commercial chaos — only slow, authentic living and beauty so pure that leaving feels impossible.

That place is Zhijiang (芷江) — the forgotten gem of Huaihua. More beautiful than Fenghuang before fame, and more serene than Zhangjiajie on its quietest days.

In Zhijiang, you’ll find:
🌉 Fengyu Longtan Bridge – the world’s longest wind-and-rain bridge, where locals stroll leisurely at dusk along the calm Wushui River.
🏮 Suozi Street – a 1 km ancient street draped in red lanterns. At night it glows like Fenghuang, but without the noise and crowded shops.
🏯 Wanhe Drum Tower – solemn Dong-style architecture by the river, perfect for that “million-like” photo without a fight for space.
📜 Anti-Japanese Surrender Memorial Hall – a vivid slice of history that leaves visitors in awe of a nation’s triumph.

For food lovers:
🥘 Try Zhijiang duck at Liao Ji or Ga Xiao Huang — spicy, sour, addictive.
🥒 Bring home Dongkolao pickled radish — crisp, tangy, perfect with hot rice.
🍲 Eat like a local at Luanqi Batuo, a humble eatery so good even residents queue up.

By evening, stroll the riverside under lantern light, the breeze soft and the world’s noise far away.

✨ Zhijiang — a place “we want famous, yet fear becoming famous.” Come before it turns into the next Fenghuang.
