🌿 Chitwan District: An Overview

Located in the southwestern part of Bagmati Province, Chitwan covers an area of 2,238.39 km². Its administrative center is Bharatpur, one of Nepal’s largest cities and a hub for education, healthcare, and commerce. The district lies in the Terai region, characterized by fertile plains and a subtropical climate.  



🐘 Chitwan National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site

Established in 1973, Chitwan National Park spans 952.63 km² and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. The park boasts a diverse range of ecosystems, including the Churia hills, ox-bow lakes, and the floodplains of the Rapti, Reu, and Narayani Rivers.

The park is home to a plethora of wildlife, including:
• Greater one-horned rhinoceroses
• Bengal tigers
