Escape from the midday sun at the Bangsaen Aquarium

Another popular activity for people of all ages when visiting Bangsaen is visiting the Bangsaen Aquarium, also known as the Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University.

This compact aquarium houses a wide variety of marine life, including shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish. While you're here, you can also learn about the ocean from the exhibits. It's a fun way to browse and read, and in no time, two hours would have passed. If it weren't closed, it would have taken much longer.

Currently, there are two buildings: the old zone, with exhibits in the front building, and the newly opened one in the back building. This new section features a water tunnel, which opened in early 2023 (we visited in March). This is another popular photo spot.

Visiting the aquarium was a great value and a lot of fun. The admission fee is also very affordable, only 80 baht for adults and 40 baht for children (foreigners: 220 baht for adults and 120 baht for children).

If you're in Bangsaen and looking to escape the heat during the day or find something to do while you're out and about, we recommend visiting the Bangsaen Aquarium at the Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University.
