If your Chongqing trip only includes Hongyadong, you're missing out on the city's true essence. This time, I ventured off the beaten path and discovered a hidden gem—Jingangbei Hot Springs Ancient Village. It's not only picturesque but also a peaceful escape from the crowds.
Having visited Chongqing countless times, I was tired of the hustle and bustle of Hongyadong. Then, I stumbled upon this treasure nestled at the foot of Jinyun Mountain. The small village, built along the Jialing River and surrounded by lush greenery, feels like a step back in time.
Transportation: Take Metro Line 6 to Beibei Station. Exit from Exit 4B and walk to Wulukou Bus Station. Transfer to bus 518/520 and get off at "Jingangbei" Station.
The ancient village leads directly to the Jialing River, offering picturesque scenery along the way. It's especially enchanting in the morning mist, resembling a scene from a fairytale. Recently, some national-style landscapes have been added, making it a perfect spot for photos.
For accommodation, I recommend the Laocun Hot Spring Hotel in the village. Waking up in such a tranquil environment is truly refreshing. The hot spring pools and infinity pool overlooking the Jialing River are simply mesmerizing.
There's also a newly opened off-road vehicle base in the village, offering a thrilling jungle adventure. Despite its low commercialization, the village boasts a variety of dining options, and the locals' warm hospitality adds a special touch.
I suggest spending two days here. Besides exploring the ancient village, you can also hike Jinyun Mountain and Zhangfei Ancient Road. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway during the May Day holiday, this is the perfect place to escape the crowds and enjoy the healing power of nature and hot springs.
