The first Crowne Plaza in Chongqing under IHG is incredibly generous as a newly opened hotel. Combined with Q1 promotions, it's super value - go for it! Located next to Chongqing Science Hall in Xingyi, the location is clearly designed for business travelers, just about 10 minutes by taxi from Chongqing West Station.

Room facilities: The hotel consists of two buildings, with Holiday Inn on one side and Crowne Plaza on the other, connected by a large corridor plaza. I love the design with the hollow top and water pool below, giving a sense of traditional Chinese "four waters returning to the hall" architecture. Crowne Plaza continues its consistent neo-Chinese design, with the lobby incorporating elements of Chongqing's traditional stilted buildings, creating a quality feel. The Ju Ming Yi has great views, looking out at the reflection of the Science Hall on the lake.

The rooms are spacious, with even the basic room types featuring bathtubs. The lighting control design is very reasonable, with multiple modes that are simple and practical to switch between. The hardware configuration is top-notch: Kohler bathroom fixtures, Dyson hair dryers, Harman Kardon speakers, SMEG kettles, as well as Crowne Plaza's signature custom tea leaves and tea sets.

The gym is located on the top floor with complete equipment and great views. The swimming pool is huge, the largest I've experienced in Chongqing hotels, and the changing rooms are equipped with saunas.

Dining and service: The doorman helps open car doors and carry luggage. Check-in is very efficient, with the front desk staff proactively introducing breakfast times and escorting guests to the guest elevators. Welcome fruit and a welcome card were already prepared in the room, which was very thoughtful.

Breakfast has seating service and is very rich with Chongqing specialties like small noodles and oil tea. I was surprised to find freshly squeezed juice as well.
