I visited Hongya Cave both in the morning and at night, and honestly, it felt like two completely different worlds.
In the morning, the place was calm and almost serene. You could actually take your time to explore the ancient-style architecture, peek into souvenir shops, and stroll around without bumping into crowds. Great for slow photography and appreciating the structure itself.
But when night falls—wow, it transforms into a neon-lit wonderland. The entire building glows with warm amber lights, resembling scenes from a Ghibli movie or a fantasy game world. Crowds buzz with excitement, and the view from the nearby bridge becomes absolutely magical. If you’re a photographer or just love beautiful cityscapes, night is the time to be here.
If you can, do both. But if you only have time for one — go at night.
