The daytime scenery of Chongqing’s 18th Street is made up of the daily lives of residents. The scenery of laundry drying, cigarette smoke flowing down the wall, and the sounds of conversations inside the store create the soundscape of the alley. Sometimes, a faint scent of tea spreads from an unpopular small teahouse, and the scent of street snacks secretly spreads from a small food stall next to the stairs. When sunlight seeps through the window at the top of the stairs, even the old and cracked stone steps seem to come to life.
