Jiufushan Nature Reserve is located in southwestern Youxi County. Its vegetation zoning falls within the Eastern China Humid Forest Zone, the Mid-subtropical Evergreen Broad-Leaved Forest Zone, and the evergreen Castanopsis Forest Zone in the northern Daiyun and Jiufeng Mountains of central and western Fujian. The reserve features typical zonal forest vegetation—the Mid-subtropical Evergreen Broad-Leaved Forest. Rich in forest resources, the reserve boasts a forest coverage rate of 96%. The area boasts 1,113 species of wild plants from 171 families and 171 species of wild animals from 58 families. The historic Tianbao Temple stands to the west. Its highest peak, the Peak of the Peak, stands at 1,222.4 meters above sea level. The area is surrounded by dramatic peaks, rugged rocks, and a lush green landscape, creating a unique and picturesque scene.
The mountains here resemble a painting, a screen, shrouded in clouds and mist, a continuous expanse of emerald green. The waters here resemble pearls, like the Jade Pool, emerald green, clear, and sweet. The waterfalls here resemble jade belts, like young girls, flowing and graceful. The canyons here seem otherworldly, like a fairyland, looming, steep and magnificent. The flora and fauna here are rich in variety, precious and rare, competing for beauty and creating a fascinating and fascinating scene. The Jiufu Mountain Ecological Tourism Zone is divided into five functional areas: the Zhuyuanli Management and Service Area, the Tianchi Wetland Scenic Area, the Jiufu Creek Canyon Scenic Area, the Shuangli Reservoir Scenic Area, and the Fenghuang Mountain Ecological Conservation Area. The "Lu Family Former Residence" in Zhuyuanli, the birthplace of Lu Xingbang, a prominent figure in central Fujian, is remarkably well-preserved, imbued with the characteristics of traditional Fujian dwellings. The Jianlong Bridge in Shuangli Village, connecting to the Shuangli Reservoir, retains its ancient elegance and refinement. The Gongguanxia residential complex, built by Lu Xingbang, is magnificent and grand. Relics steeped in religious culture and legend, such as the Xinxing Ancestral Hall, Fengshan Temple, and the Immortal Pavilion, add a mysterious and captivating aura to Jiufu Mountain.
