Dazu Rock Carvings, a World Heritage Site in Chongqing, China

The Dazu Rock Carvings, designated a World Heritage Site in 1999, are divided into several locations, but I visited the main one, Baodingshan. 🛕

You can get up close and personal with stone carvings, primarily from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), including the stunning Thousand-Armed Kannon and the Six Realms of Reincarnation and Hell, which are spread across the wall of a 31-meter-long Nirvana statue—one of the largest in China!

A must-see for lovers of Buddhist art, as well as those interested in history and culture. 👀

⏰ Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (last entrance 4:30 PM)
🎫 Ticket Price: Approximately 80 NTD (approx. 1,400 JPY)
📍 Access: Baodingshan, Dazu District, Chongqing (approx. 1.5 hours by car from downtown Chongqing)
