The city of Chongqing is constantly flowing. This trip focuses on visiting several hidden attractions along the Jialing River, where you can enjoy Chongqing's unique river scenery and nostalgic culture. The ferry to Jialing, the low-profile photo-taking at Lower Haoli Waterfall, and the market-filled Changjiahui Danzishi Old Street are perfect for those who want to feel the slow life in Chongqing, take beautiful photos, and find non-mainstream corners.
Itinerary Route Planning:
Stop 1: Ferry to Jialing
Address: About 140 meters east of Fusion Binjiang No. 1, Ciqikou Tunnel, Shapingba District, Chongqing
Opening hours: 10:00-17:50
It is recommended to come by car early in the morning and take the ferry to feel the cool breeze and fluctuating river water on the Jialing River. Along the way, you can enjoy the three-dimensional city and riverside style of Chongqing. The design of the ferry is more retro, and the bow position has the best view for photography. It has both the charm of vicissitudes and modernity.
tips:
The boat is not too big. If there are more tourists on holidays, you should reserve time in line; pay attention to the departure time. If you miss it, you will have to wait for a while before the next one.
Stop 2: Shimoholi Falls
Address: Next to Haoli Luoqiao Square, Nanbin Road, Nan'an District, Chongqing
Xiahaoli Waterfall is an extremely rare natural small waterfall in Chongqing city. The waterfall falls along the rock, backed by old-style houses, full of old town style. The sound of water, fresh and humid air, coupled with the delicate cliff vegetation, can take natural photos. There is a landing bridge square next to the waterfall, which is quite comfortable to cool off.
tips:
The location of the waterfall is more secluded, so it is recommended to use a map to navigate; in rainy days, the water is larger but the rocks are slippery, so be careful when walking; there are relatively many tourists on weekends, but it is still not too crowded.
Stop 3: Bang Zi Shek Old Street, Cheung Ka Wai
Address: No. 133, East Section of Nanbin Road, Nan'an District, Chongqing
Opening hours: 10:00-22:00
The old street of Bouncy Rock has been renovated with a sense of history. The old buildings are mixed with cultural and creative markets and authentic snacks. The lighting is particularly warm at night, and the night view by the river is excellent. It is recommended to arrive in the evening, first slowly stroll around the markets and street shops, then go to the riverside to take pictures of the night view of Chongqing. The most popular photo spots are the red brick walls of the old street alleys, the antique old teahouses and the riverside walkway.
tips:
The streets are steep and comfortable shoes are recommended; crowds are concentrated on Friday and Saturday nights, so it is recommended to go down the street as early as possible to find a good seat; some shops can be booked using trip.com to reserve a seat for more peace of mind.
Practical itinerary tips:
1. Each attraction is not far apart, taxi or subway light rail is convenient; it is recommended to allocate time reasonably, leaving 1 to 2 hours per station is enough.
2. It is recommended to choose a sunny day for the ferry. It is advisable to bring a jacket after boarding the boat when the wind is strong.
3. The old street location is more slope, walk a few more steps easy to get tired, but there are small stools around to sit, suitable for slow feeling.
4. The scenery along the Jialing River is beautiful at night, and it is recommended that the last stop be arranged at night to enjoy the river view.
