If you have ever watched Winter Sonata, you must have dreamed of setting foot on Nami Island - where the two main characters cycled under the golden ginkgo trees. Although the movie is old, the beauty here has never gone out of style.

Nami Island is like a fairy-tale valley in the middle of the river, each season wears a new color. Spring has peach blossoms, summer is shady with trees, autumn has shimmering red and yellow leaves, and winter is covered with white snow. Just one day, you will feel all your worries disappear.

In particular, the island has an open library area, an art gallery, a picnic lawn, riverside cafes and Korean - European restaurants of all kinds.

• Entrance fee + ferry fee: 16,000₩ (round trip)
• Tandem bicycle rental: ~6,000₩/30 minutes
• Shuttle bus from Seoul (Insadong – 23,000₩/round trip)
• Take the ITX train from Yongsan to Gapyeong (about 1 hour), then take a taxi/ferry to the island

Tips:
• Go early to avoid the crowds (especially in the fall).
• Bring water and snacks if you want to picnic on the island.
• Visit Petit France or the nearby Garden of Morning Calm if you have time!
