Chuncheon Day Trip Itinerary: From Nami Island to Tteokbokki

Chuncheon is a city that's great to visit any time of the year, but today's light day trip was so satisfying that I just had to share the route! 🌿

🗺 Overview – Chuncheon One-Day Route

Nami Island → Makguksu → Chuncheon Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley → Instant Tteokbokki

1. 🚤 Start with a Stroll on Nami Island

Set off early in the morning and head straight to Nami Island!

The moment you board the ferry crossing the river, your mood instantly lifts. The island is filled with trees and is perfect for a leisurely walk, making it a highly recommended healing spot. 🌳

📌 Tip: You can also enter via zipline instead of the ferry for a unique experience.

Photo Spots: Metasequoia Road, Lawn Area, Riverside Benches
Time Needed: About 1.5 to 2 hours for a relaxed exploration

2. 🍜 Lunch at a Makguksu Restaurant

When hunger strikes after your walk, head to a nearby makguksu (buckwheat noodles) restaurant!

• Refreshing mul-makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) with a rich buckwheat flavor
• Spicy bibim-makguksu (mixed buckwheat noodles) is also a popular choice
• Pair it with boiled pork slices (suyuk) for the perfect meal 🥩

Signature Combo: Bibim-makguksu + a warm cup of broth
This is where I truly experienced the authentic taste of Gangwon Province.

3. 🍗 Chuncheon Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley

You can't visit Chuncheon without trying dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken)!

Chuncheon Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley is lined with restaurants, so part of the fun is choosing where to eat.

I went for smoky, iron-grilled dakgalbi with a fried rice finish. I was so full I thought I might burst, but it was worth every bite!

📌 Tip: If you're in a group of two or more, consider adding cheese or sweet potato toppings.

4. 🌶️ Wrap Up with Instant Tteokbokki

The final snack was instant tteokbokki, recommended by locals.

The combination of sweet and spicy tteokbokki broth with crispy fried snacks was absolutely unbeatable. Especially the seaweed rolls (gimmari) – you must try them, seriously. Crispy on the outside, chewy rice cakes on the inside!

Ending the Chuncheon trip with this snack made it simply perfect.
