I always thought sunflower fields were exclusive to Italy or Japan, but to my surprise, Spain is filled with them! As soon as you step out of the Cuenca high-speed rail station, you're greeted by endless sunflower fields.

With the high temperatures of Southern Europe in summer, mid-August is the peak time for sunflower fields to bloom. If you visit during this period, don't forget to wander along the countryside paths—sunflower fields will be right by your side!
