Sacsayhuamán is a massive archaeological site located in the northern part of Cusco city. It is believed to have been constructed as an important structure of the Inca Empire, but its exact purpose—whether as a fortress, a religious facility, or both—remains uncertain and is subject to various theories. 🔍
This site is particularly famous for its enormous stonework. The walls, made by intricately fitting giant stones together, are said to reach a height of about 20 meters and span approximately 400 meters in width! It was indeed vast! These massive stones are so precisely assembled, like a puzzle, that not even a razor blade can fit between them, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship. ✨
It was truly impressive and a lot of fun to explore!
