A legacy of the 1993 Daejeon Expo, the site of Daejeon Expo Science Park was transformed into a forward-looking urban space that blends the memory of an international exposition with modern science, culture and green fields. The park’s most recognisable landmark, the Hanbit Tower (“Tower of Great Light”), still stands as a striking symbol of the city’s technological ambition.
Today, the park offers a mix of open spaces, science-themed attractions and leisure paths. Visitors can stroll through gardens, encounter interactive installations, and view media-light displays around the tower and plazas. It’s a place where families, science enthusiasts and casual visitors alike can enjoy both education and nature in one setting.
Plan on 1–2 hours for a visit if you’re focusing on the main highlights; more time if you include the nearby facilities or special events. The park is easily reachable at 480 Daedeok-daero, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Public transport directions: take Line 1 subway to Yuseong Spa Station, Exit 1, then walk approx. 800 metres. Bus options include No. 104 or 106, getting off at the “Expo Science Park” stop.
